Preparing for the Installation
Step 1 - Navigate to the IntelliRoute Path
Navigate to your Network Share that contains the "Client Setup" folder.
In this example, our IntelliRoute server path is \\MileMakerLAB1\IntelliRoute\.
Step 2 - Launch the Client Setup Application
Ensure you are completing this step as an administrator. One note before proceeding, ensure you placed the server in Install mode if you are using Citrix, VMWare Horizon, or Remote Desktop Services.
Step 3 - Setting the User ID
Once the wizard appears, click next, you should be greeted with the "User ID" prompt. Enter in a user id, or use the server's name. No more than 8 characters should be used.
In our example, we'll use RMLAB4.
Step 4 - Configuring the Network Path
With modern versions of windows, if you ran as an administrator, it's possible we won't see the mapped network drive. In this case, we'll be using the UNC path, wrapped in quotes.
Step 5 - Selecting your Additional Files
IntelliRoute can be configured to be utilized in a few different ways. We recommend selecting "Router and Map Files (Top Performance)" if you are using this with an integration, or intend on allowing users to interface with IntelliRoute.
Step 6 - LAN Client Install Path
Unless your integration requires a special path, we recommend leaving this default for the best experience.
You'll select Next > until the wizard completes.
Step 7 - Installation Complete
The installation is now complete. If you are not integrating into IntelliRoute, your process is complete. If you are using this with an integration from one of our partners, please proceed to step 8.
Step 8 - Verifying the Environment Variables (Path)
From your start menu, launch 'Advanced System Settings' you can also call this exact dialog by pressing WINKEY+R and entering in sysdm.cpl
Next, Navigate to the 'Advanced' Tab
Once this dialog appears, click on 'Environment Variables...' in the bottom right.
Next, In the bottom box (system), click on the Path item in the list, and then click on Edit.
You should see an entry for the UNC path we entered in the installation wizard, appended with '\ApiBin'
If the Environment Variable for API Bin exists in path, your installation is complete. If the variable did not exist, click on 'New' and enter in the UNC Path or Mapped Drive path for the installation appended by ApiBin.
For example, if your network share is at:
\\MileMakerLab1\Rand McNally\IntelliRoute, your PATH would be: \\MileMakerLab1\Rand McNally\IntelliRoute\ApiBin
Otherwise, if mapped to the IntelliRoute folder (\\MileMakerLab1\IntelliRoute, your path would be: \\MileMakerLab1\IntelliRoute\ApiBin)
